The Journey of Quincy Jones

Friday, November 14, 2008

During his 50-year career, Quincy Jones has worked with everyone from Frank Sinatra to Puff Daddy, founded Vibe magazine, collected countless awards, and earned a reputation as a jazz giant. (Somewhere in there, he found time to make possible an album called "Thriller.") Jones joins us on the occasion of his new book, "The Complete Quincy Jones: My Journey & Passions."

the arts really need to be in our schools today I have a child attending elementary school and plays the clarinet and don't want to leave because she know that the music classes are not at all schools and she loves to play this is an negative response to my childs learniong because she loves music and should not have to attend a scool of arts to participate in this goal that she wishes to acheive and share with students under her. Thanking you for hearing my view to this matter.

Many great nations have a Mininster of the Arts. We are the greatest nation and should have something like unto it as well.

The Arts really need to be put back into oour schools and our theatres and museums. But especially our schools which create a sence of pride, discipline, and commitment that can change children's lives more so than sports.

I am a public school teacher and know that Klein has caused nothing but damage to the public school system in NYC. Please do not let this continue.

Sincerely,
Helen Klassen

For the past few days I've been listening to Quincy Jones's "Talkin' Verve." It's SO lounge, I LOVE it!

Arts are as critical to us as human beings as anything else. Please establish this position!

I'd like to see Quincy Jones appointed US Ambassador of the Arts.

As a consumer of Black Flag albums when everyone else was grooving to Michael Jackson, I find myself pleasantly surprised to say cheers HR but damn, Mr. Jones... what an astonishing talent you are, what a gift to American music and what a pleasure to hear your interview. Thank you sir. Good luck with the Secretary of the arts!

I think Quincy Jones founded Vibe Magazine, not Vice Magazine.
