Christopher Janney's "Everywhere Is The Best Seat" (sonic/light installation is commissioned by Peak Performances @ Montclair. Montclair State University Amphitheater.) (Ari Mintz)

The late John Cage once said, “Everything you do is music, and everywhere is the best seat.” Architect and composer Christopher Janney’s latest art installation is called “Everywhere Is The Best Seat,” and he joins us to talk about sound art, sonic architecture, and Cage's legacy.

"Everywhere Is The Best Seat" is on view through Nov. 14, 2010 at Montclair State University. For more information, click here.

Fantastic post! I’m just starting out in community management/marketing media and looking to understand how to do it effectively - resources like this post are incredibly helpful. As our company is based inside the US, it’s all a bit new to us. The example above is something that I worry about as well, how you can show your own genuine enthusiasm and share the fact that your product is useful in that case.

Thank you sound check for explaining this exhibit. I attend Montclair State University and could not comprehend why these red totems were make noise and where they came from. I am a long time listener of WNYC and sound check, especially on the way to school.
