Over the years, fans have come to know banjo master Bela Fleck and the Flecktones as a trio, rounded out by bassist Victor Wooten and percussionist Roy “Future Man” Wooten. But when sax player Jeff Coffin, who was a regular with the band for several years, recently made his departure for the greener pastures of the Dave Matthews Band, the group reunited with an original founding member of the group - harmonica player Howard Levy. The quartet, which put out its reunion album, “Rocket Science,” in May, joins us live in the studio.

I've been a fan of the Flectones for a long time and except for seeing them on television once or twice I've only heard them on the cd's that they have made together. It was good to hear them on WNYC through a podcast on the internet today and I hope that you have them back again real soon.
Sincerely,
Ed Borkowski
Hello Bela. I knew you when you were just a babe, and we were all living in a housing project on 104th Street! Have been following your wonderful career, since, and we both love your music! Say hello to your mom, Barbara, from Don and Shaney.
