We Wish You A Creepy Christmas

Last week, we asked our listeners to tell us about the holiday classics that cross the line from cute to creepy. We heard from people who were disturbed by the message of infidelity in "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"; from those who found "Baby, It's Cold Outside" to be one step away from a felony charge; and from someone who actually bought this man's album after seeing him on TV -- and then found it creepy. (Note: We are not surprised by this outcome).

We even heard from our own John Schaefer, who taught us an important holiday lesson about faceless angels with operatic voices: they're downright scary.

Now, contributor Faith Salie -- who inspired this entire creep-fest after e-mailing us from the Tampa airport about some odd Christmas music she was hearing over the loudspeakers -- joins us to share her own feelings about holiday classics that deserve a perhaps more scrutinous listen.

And, for your listening pleasure, we've compiled some of our listeners' creepy holiday suggestions into a Spotify playlist. Merry merry!

I need to add that I've always found "Dance of the Sugar Plumb Fairies" to be especially creepy.
