The weather’s getting warmer, birds are singing - time to seize the day and break out that old French horn you haven’t played since high school. On our last show before our Summer Workshop begins, John Schaefer asks you to commit to a summer music resolution, whether it’s picking up a new instrument, seeing a great concert, or getting through that music documentary you’ve been meaning to watch. Plus: The London-based band Micachu and the Shapes performs live.
If your New Year’s resolution died a quiet death months ago, but you still want to make your mark in 2012 – make a musical summer resolution with Soundcheck!
The London-based band Micachu and the Shapes - led by multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer Mica Levi - made an indie rock splash in 2009 with their debut album, "Jewellery." The group's follow-up, called "Never," comes out in July - and today, we get a preview.
Soundcheck isn't just for your ears - it's for your eyes, too! Check out our YouTube playlist of live performances captured on camera in our studio. Press play and see where our more than six hours of footage takes you... or browse through a list of performances here.
