Nina Persson performing in the Soundcheck studio with The Citizens Band.
(Michael Katzif / WNYC)
The 2012 election is upon us! We've heard from the candidates, the pundits, and the pollsters. Now, it's time for some music from the cabaret troupe known as The Citizens Band. The group has tackled a variety of subjects from immigration to healthcare to the financial collapse. Their just-released album, Grab A Root And Growl, is a collection of democracy-themed songs meant to fire up the voting masses. Members of the group, including troupe founder Sarah Sophie Flicker and Nina Persson, of The Cardigans, join us to perform in the Soundcheck studio.
Set List:
° "The Debt Rattle"
° "I Swung The Election"
° "I Think It's Gonna Rain Today"
