Mystery writer Daniel Handler is best known as the man behind the character Lemony Snicket -- and the gothic Series of Unfortunate Events books. The latest in his Lemony Snicket series is a noir novel called Who Could That Be At This Hour? 

Handler joins us with a playlist of three of his favorite dark and beguiling tunes. He also talks about making music with The Magnetic Fields' Stephin Merritt and about a memorable run-in with iconoclast songwriter Leonard Cohen.
