Neil Cowley may be the most widely-heard pianist on the planet, but you likely have not heard his name much. The British musician played on Adele's album 21, including the mammoth hit single "Rolling In the Deep."

Cowley has also had a long and varied career -- ranging from early classical training to stints in triphop and funk bands. His Neil Cowley Trio looks like a standard jazz combo -- piano, bass, and drums -- yet there's nothing standard about their sound, which they bring to the Soundcheck studio.
