Today on Soundcheck, we put 2012 behind us and look ahead to the new year. Buzzfeed music editor Matthew Perpetua previews a slew of upcoming winter music releases from Tegan & Sara, A$AP Rocky and Yo La Tengo.

Then, the California indie folk band Milo Greene plays in our studio, and we introduce them to someone they thought only existed in their imaginations -- a real-life Milo Greene.

And a preview of Winter Jazzfest and Globalfest, two music festivals taking over New York City in one jam-packed weekend later in this month.
