With an ever-changing roster of members, it's a good thing the sound of this Brooklyn band is greater than the sum of its parts (pun intended). Since forming in 2002, they've gone through three drummers, and in July one of their guitarists left after a year with the group. But on this track, despite their revolving door history, the experimental noise rock trio sound unified in sonic complexity. A steady, driving opening eventually gives way to a thrashing (yet precise) climax of guitars, drums, electronics and vocals. This song is the musical equivalent of moshing in a padded room.
