Hometown: Brooklyn

The Facts: Cox is one of the lead vocalists and guitarists for the alt-country rock band Oakley Hall. Hailing from North Carolina, she once sang duets with fellow band member Pat Sullivan in the subway. Oakley Hall is currently working on new material for a Merge Records release in 2010, and Cox has plans to record a solo record of her own in the near future. Consider these songs her demos.

The Sound: Rootsy and warm.

Latest Release: I'll Follow You with Oakley Hall (2007) on Merge Records

He Said, She Said: (From I'll Follow You review) "Rachel Cox's strong, cleanly articulated vocal style carries tracks like "Angela" to levels of accessibility beyond the boundaries of "'indie...'" – Matthew A. Stern, Dusted Magazine
