"Holy Joe"

Guitarist Wayne Krantz has always been known as a nonconformist, playing with everyone from Steely Dan to John Zorn.On this track, from Krantz's first commercially release since 1997, bassist Tim Lefebvre and drummer Keith Carlock (a fellow Steely Dan contributor) help the electric guitarist cement his reputation as a maverick of fusion. Anxious polyrhythms and dark, funky bass underscore Krantz's metallic, gritty, virtuosic guitar solos, creating a song that's as layered and intricate as it is driving and hard-rocking.
