Brazilian guitarist Joao Erbetta specializes in playing Latin-tinged surf music with a twang. The combination may sound strange, but Erbetta, who's based in Brooklyn, makes it work. This track, from Erbetta's third instrumental album, The L.A. Sessions, combines the lightheartedness of surf guitar with the mystery and seductiveness of Latin music, topped off with a bit of Americana melancholy.
