Few compositions have been more fittingly named than this work by contemporary composer John Hollenbeck. Not only does listening to this piece feel like floating in the middle of a calm sea, you also get the sense that you’re floating through Hollenbeck’s musical memory, drifting between jazz, world and avant-garde. It’s a trip that’s hard to navigate, but it’s a nice ride.
