As the guitarist for The National and a founding member of Clogs, Bryce Dessner is fluent in the immediacy of rock and the more complex patterns of modern composition. So it shouldn't be any surprise that he zones out to both the xx's stripped-down minimalism and the long-form contemporary classical of Bang on a Can founder Michael Gordon.
