Get: Tickets ($10 suggested donation at door) | Directions

One part Latin rhythm and one part soul, the musical movement known as boogaloo first emerged right here in New York City back in the '60s. Spanglish Fly is reigniting the boogaloo sound decades later, and is performing at Barbes every Monday night in August. Here the group offers up its version of the old school R&B hit "Think," made famous by James Brown and reinterpreted by Spanglish Fly as a Latin dance floor jam.

Saw this band at Camaradas recently. They killed it. Authentic boogaloo sound!
