Titus Andronicus
"A More Perfect Union"
Playing at: Glasslands Gallery
(289 Kent Ave., Williamsburg)
Get: Tickets | Directions

Given that Titus Andronicus's record concept is inspired by the Civil War, and that it has an album name taken from the first American ironclad warship, it's no surprise that the opening track of the band's new album is a rabble-rouser. These New Jersey boys don't disappoint. "A More Perfect Union" comes to life with a tape-recorded speech, and includes references to Bruce Springsteen, the Garden State and a Civil War battle cry over the course of a guitar-drenched, raucous opus.
