The Texas-born country rockers the Old 97's recently released their eighth studio album The Grand Theatre, Volume One. The group, which is led by the prolific songwriter and frontman Rhett Miller, will release a second batch of material in 2011. The Old 97's joined John Schaefer, the host of Soundcheck and New Sounds, in WNYC's studios to talk to Miller about writing on the road with singer songwriter Steve Earle and recording in a century-old theater in Texas.
The Old 97's also performed "The State of Texas" at WNYC. Check out the video below.
