Les Chauds Lapins—literally “The Hot Rabbits”—is Meg Reichardt and Kurt Hoffman, two long-time NYC musicians who have banded together to resurrect the late great art of 1920s and ‘30s French chanson. Wielding banjo-ukuleles and backed by a host of string and wind instruments, these intrepid américains aim to recreate the sound and style of a time when French popular music was borrowing from American jazz to make a sexy and witty style that unmistakably French. If you like this song and have a uke of your own lying around, play along with "Mon rêve c'était vous" (which means “My Dream it Was You”). You can buy the sheet music single from the Rabbit’s website.
