Last fall, the artist known as Gonzales took it upon himself to break the Guiness World Record for continuous piano playing with a 27-hour solo performance. Apparently unsatisfied with that dubious honor, he quickly reached out to another piano-playing eccentric, party-rock apostle Andrew W.K., and challenged him to a musical duel. The two faced off at Joe's Pub, enacting a kind of freestyle battle on twin pianos that was gleefully received by the audience and cemented a creative partnership between the two artists. Gonzales and W.K. rendezvous back at Joe's tonight for round two.
