Mikey Hart, Nikhil P. Yerawadekar, and Rich Levinson of King Expressers are now based in Brooklyn, but the trio has its roots in Ghana, where the members developed a love for the local popular music while living there. As a result, this A-side from the band's 7" single is filled with the jazzy horns of Ghanaian highlife music and the upbeat rhythm of Congolese soukous. But the King Expressors also cross-pollinate their sound with some indie rock influences, producing a fun, hybridized track well-suited for any house party.
