With a name like Bryan Scary & The Shredding Tears, it's no surprise that this band plays sprawling melodramatic power pop suitable for a rock musical. Citing Queen, the Beatles and XTC as influences, frontman Bryan Scary and his band blend prog rock, glam and art pop into a dancy, multi-layered adventure. "(It's A) Gamblers Whirl" is especially Queen-inspired, combining an operatic sensibility with climbing guitars, crashing piano and a disco beat.
