At 29, jazz drummer Tyshawn Sorey is best known for tearing it up behind a kit. But he's also made a name for himself as a leader and composer with an imaginative musical vision that extends beyond jazz. "Correct Truth," from Sorey's celebrated album Koan, is an impressionistic original piece for a trio of drums, bass and guitar. Sorey leads an avant-garde performance that pushes past the realm of free jazz and borders on sound art.
