New York-based foursome Tall Tall Trees is known for their bold blend of folk, bluegrass and world music. On "Grey," from the band's self-titled debut, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mike Savino succeeds in composing a tune that is both sweet and surprising. Opening with simple, fuzzy banjo and Savino's soft voice, the gentle melody segues from lullaby to afrobeat jam, thanks to some polyrhythmic percussion.
