Get: Tickets | Directions
Born to Rwandan and Ugandan parents in Chicago, honey-voiced world jazz singer Somi has had one foot in the traditions of East Africa and the other in American culture her entire life. As a result, her musical style is a hybrid of the earthy sound of her African heritage and the sophisticated jazz that African music inspired on this side of the Atlantic. On this spirited track, quick, vibrant percussion and spirited guitar underscore Somi's soft yet dynamic vocals.
