After returning to New York from a trip to Ghana during which he studied African highlife music, percussionist Charles Ferguson was inspired to form an Afropop collective, and the 13-piece group Zongo Junction was born. Inspired by the music of Fela Kuti, Zongo Junction play deeply groovy Afropop with funk, jazz and soul tendencies. This seductive track hearkens back to Kuti's musical legacy of cool horns and enticing beat.
