Sicilian songstress Carmen Consoli has been considered one of Italy's premier singer-songwriters since she debuted her sound in the 1990s. On this track from her seventh studio album Elettra, just released stateside this week, Consoli combines the passionate rockiness that characterized her earlier releases with the folky quality she began to explore with her recordings in the 2000s. Grounded by Consoli's husky, sonorous vocals, vivid strings and a bouncy beat, "A Finestra" romps with earthy vigor.
