Cubic Zirconia is the acid house-meets-hip-hop-meets-R&B creation of vocalist Tiombe, beat master Nick Hook, guitarist Todd Weinstock and percussionist/keyboardist Daud Sturdivant, who recently joined the group. They call their music "ethnic disco," and it's a fitting description. This track, from the EP Ready to Slide, opens with a sample of Art of Noises' much-loved tune "Moments in Love." Sinuous and sleek, Tiombe enters with dirty rhymes before the track segues into a mellow club slink with a hip-hop beat.
