"Wouldn't it be nice to live together?" asked the Beach Boys. "I just want four walls and adobe slabs for my girls!" exclaimed Animal Collective. Plenty of songs have reveled in the fantasy of shacking up and settling down, but rarely has the result been so somber as in this offering from Twin Sister. "I Want a House," with its quiet thuds and echoing chimes, builds to a hypnotic groove that swallows up the sentimental lyrics. Where their predecessors provided a soundtrack for climbing to the roof and shouting one's love to the world, Twin Sister invites listeners to lie back on the floor and let dreams of the good life sweep them away.
