Versus
"Shangri-La"
Playing FRIDAY at: Public Assembly
(70 N. 6th St., Williamsburg)
Get: Tickets ($10 at door) | Directions

The New York City-based indie rock outfit Versus enjoyed comfortable status as one of the favorites of the '90s indie scene, but after releasing their last album in 2000, the group broke up, then reunited, and then went on hiatus for a good chunk of the next decade. As of late, Versus has regrouped and started recording and performing again, and tonight they'll make an appearance at Public Assembly for the "Arms Around Haiti" benefit. The group's MySpace page declares that the band will be debuting some new, very different material, but hopefully they'll still hang on to some the easy harmonies found in tracks such as "Shangri-La."
