Tonight the downtown piano pop trio Elizabeth and the Catapult move uptown to headline a show at Merkin Concert Hall for WNYC's New Sounds Live concert series. The threesome has steadily been gaining fans for their perky, sophisticated jazz-tinged indie pop since releasing their major label debut Taller Children last year. "Race You," with its playful percussion and frontwoman Elizabeth Ziman's inspired vocals, is as fun and frolicsome as it is tight and imaginative. Ziman and company will debut a new, specially commissioned work for this evening's New Sounds concert.
