Matisyahu
"Time of Your Song" (Live)
Playing Tonight at: Brooklyn Bowl (61 Wythe Ave., Williamsburg)
Info: Tickets ($25) | Directions

If you haven’t heard by now, there's quite a popular Hasidic Jewish musician out there blending his religion’s themes with rock ‘n' reggae hip-hop and freestyle beatboxing. Matisyahu, born Matthew Paul Miller in southeastern Pennsylvania, converted to Hassidism, adopted the Hebrew pronunciation of his name and has since amassed a truly niche musical following. The New York-based artist plays with Brooklyn’s Dub Trio on his live album, Live at Stubbs II, which is slated for an early February release. The trio shares the stage for tonight’s performance at Brooklyn Bowl. Download "Time of Your Song" above, or check out the video for Matisyahu's biggest hit, the 2005 single “King Without A Crown” here.
