Get: Tickets ($20-30) | Directions
Ben Frost - “Thin Ice (Ben Frost Mix)”
Daníel Bjarnason - “Sorrow conquers Happiness”
Founded in Krakow, Poland in 2003 and first franchised here in 2010, Unsound presents a week of concerts, panels, and sound laboratories geared towards linking the experimental impulses of the institutional and the underground.
Wednesday night’s kick-off at Lincoln Center promises to be strange and sublime. It features the music of Steve Reich, Polish legend Krzysztof Penderecki, and a new orchestral work composed by two young hot-shots: “Music for Solaris” by Daniel Bjarnason and Ben Frost.
Frost’s work often includes dance music remixes (see above) and thrashing guitars. Plus, he’s fresh off a Rolex mentorship with Brian Eno. Tonight, Eno will be behind a projector doing “film manipulations.”
