Drummer Ari Hoenig is known for his intensity behind the drum kit -- and for his use of the drums as a melodic and percussive instrument.
His fifth album, “Lines of Oppression,” takes its name from the long employment lines he observed while on tour in Haiti in 2007, and the album’s title track explores what Hoenig calls an “oppressive” melodic line.
