It’s tempting to call Anais Mitchell a singer–songwriter. In reality, she’s more of a singer-storyteller. Mitchell’s songs double as studies of an array of characters, each with their own revealing story. Her new album A Young Man in America is full of such tales - an idea she expanded upon in her appearance on Soundcheck last week.
