If there’s one thing you can say about Jake Shimabukuro, it’s that the man knows his way around four strings. The Hawaiian singer and musician has made waves with his astonishing technique and covers of well-known songs…all on the ukulele.
Our download for today's Gig Alert is an Shimabukuro original - "Island Fever Blues." You can also watch a video of him performing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" on solo ukulele at TED 2010 below. Shimabukuro plays at the NYU Skirball Center Friday night.

Wow....Jake...you are amazing!!! I am in awe - went to a yoga class today, you were on the teacher's playlist, the George Harrison song...I asked where can I find more of this music, and she told me...I am wanting to listen to you all day! Keep playing please!!!!
