R&B singer Bettye LaVette marks fifty years in music this year with the release of a new album called Thankful N' Thoughtful, and a memoir about her hardscrabble life, called A Woman Like Me. Bettye Lavette is best known as an interpreter -- and her version of the Gnarls Barkley song, “Crazy,” takes the radio hit to a new level.
