ARTIST: Clogs

SHOW: Wednesday at Merkin Hall (Ecstatic Music Festival - $25)
The band Clogs has spent over a decade creating a lovely, lyrical blend of post-rock, new classical, and introspective folk music. Along the way, their violinist, Padma Newsome, has developed into a gifted singer and songwriter as well.
In fact, the band's latest release is in large part a solo effort by Newsome. The Sundown Song EP features three songs, including the title track that serves as today's download. All three feature the same hushed folk, with occasional choral arrangements.
Clogs play Merkin Concert Hall Wednesday night as part of the Ecstatic Music Festival, in a show presented by New Sounds Live (hosted by our own John Schaefer). WQXR's Q2 music will stream the full show live here. Miss the show? Watch a video of the band performing their song "Cocodrillo" (With help from the audience) below.
