Don’t let the plural form of the name fool you – the band U.S. Girls isn’t really a band at all. Rather, it’s the project of one Meghan Remy. From humble, lo-fi beginnings, she’s built a catalogue of ramshackle, American rock anthems.
Indeed, on today's download, Remy seems to embrace both sides. "Jack" features a catchy, sing-along-able chorus, set against a whitewash wall of sound and a basic, stomping beat. The result wouldn't sound out of place on an album of any of the stright-up classic rock heroes she emulates.
