Recently on Soundcheck we heard about New York’s surprisingly vital country and bluegrass scene. Tonight, the band Whiskey Shivers will bring a little bit of Austin, Texas to the big city, offering a fresh, energetic take on traditional bluegrass.
In fact, the band themselves will tell you that what they play isn't bluegrass at all. In fact, fiddler Bobby Fitzgerald summed up their style in a recent interview as "trashgrass." The label fits the band's ramshackle style, adding energetic elements to an old-time Americana tradition.

What a treat to see this band live last night @ Union Pool - high octane energy from start to finish with a bit of Hee Haw with an edge ;-) They are doing for country / bluegrass what the Dropkick Murphys have done for Celtic!
