Noel Heroux has been recording under the name Hooray For Earth in fits and starts since 2005. But the project really crystallized with the 2011 album True Loves – featuring contributions from various members of Brooklyn’s noise-pop scene and a lot of electronic sounds.
Today's download, the track "No Love," showcases these electronic and noise tendencies. But it also shifts wildly. H orn section lends the chorus an analog feel, while the percussion constantly changes the point of emphasis. Is it a little schizophrenic? Yes. But that's pastiche - it's part of the charm.
