Electronic music is often thought of as being forward-looking, futuristic, and pretty serious. Then there’s Mouse on Mars. This German duo has a sense of humor and can look back at a long history: This is their 20th year of making strange, wild, and whimsical sounds.
You can sense the mastery brought on by those 20 years on today's download. "Bonuß," a cut from Mouse On Mars' latest album WOW, seems to exist in its own self-contained synthetic world. The band made the record looking to lean more towards music that could be played in a club. While there are some nods toward dubstep here, the work is still distinct Mouse on Mars.
