Christine Owman

Playing at: Scandinavia House (58 Park Avenue @ 38th Street)
Info: Tickets ($10) | Directions

Plan on getting audio and visual delights tonight at Christine Owman's show at Scandinavia House in Murray Hill. The half-Swedish, half-Danish singer will be bringing her dichotomous blend of dreamy folk and raw distortion to the Nordic outpost stage. (Her forthcoming album Throwing Knives is out this month on Revolving Records.) During the performance, expect to see Owman's self-produced projections of 1920’s and ‘30s black-and-white films flicker behind near performance-art level dance moves and headbangs. The ukulele, saw, cello, guitar, melodica and a loop station are also in her instrumental bag of tricks, providing an ideal backdrop for Owman's effect-laden vocals. Download "Circles" above or check out two of the singer's videos below. For the complete package, you’ll just have to check out the show.

I saw her perform in Miami last year.

Don't miss this show!

You will never see anything like this again.
