Sun Airway
"Oh Naoko"

Playing SATURDAY at: Glasslands Gallery (289 Kent Ave., Williamsburg)
Info: Tickets ($8) | Directions

Philadelphia's tropical pop duo Sun Airway (songwriter Jon Barthmus and sound manipulator Patrick Marsceill) released its debut album Nocturne of Exploded Crystal Chandelier last October. The band got Internet notoriety with its remixes of songs by Caribou, Delorean, Here We Go Magic and The Hundred In The Hands. Sun Airway's track “Oh, Naoko” takes you on an upbeat nocturnal journey replete with a field-recorded cricket intro looping through Barthmus’s fuzzy vocals.

Barthmus and Marsceill dunk this song, “Put the Days Away,” in a hazy electronic wash making it sound like it could have been recorded by the Strokes ten years ago. Get your visual stimulation on with this video for the album’s opening track “Infinity.”
