If nothing else, Prince Rama is epic. Just check out the name of song available for download above. Since 2007, the psych-rock trio has released four albums, the latest being Shadow Temple, which was released on the independent record label Paw Tracks. (Brooklyn pals Animal Collective record and operate the label.) Now based in Brooklyn themselves, via a Hare Krishna commune in Florida, Prince Rama is made up of Taraka and Nimai Larson and Michael Collins. The Larson sisters sing and play bass and percussion, while Collins produces haunting vocals through trippy electronic productions. On "Land of the Apocalypse Transcended," the trio gets prophetic with these lyrics: “2127. Prince Edward Island. We are approaching the event horizon.” All that following an Elvis sample that invites listeners to “take my hand.” An epic journey will surely ensue.
