The Mountain Goats
“Damn These Vampires

Playing MONDAY at: Bowery Ballroom
(6 Delancey Street, LES)
Info: Tickets ($25) | Directions

Songwriter John Darnielle has finely tuned his craft since 1991. In both his early solo work and his performances with The Mountain Goats, his characters often complain: about relationships, themselves, current and ex-lovers and other details of their lives. The songs resonate not only through the epically-spun plights of these anti-heroes but also because of Darnielle’s nasally yet sonorous vocals.

But the Durham, NC based musician doesn’t leave hope completely behind. Most songs include an escape plan.

On Monday night The Mountain Goats start a three-night stint at the Bowery Ballroom. And the band’s thirteenth album titled All Eternals Deck is being released on Tuesday.

Enjoy a free download of the track “Damn These Vampires,” about the lasting bite marks of a vampire.
