Tom Vek
"Aroused"

Playing Tuesday night at Mercury Lounge
(217 E. Houston Street, East Village)
Info: Tickets ($10) | Directions

With the June 7 digital release of his sophomore album Leisure Seizure, Tom Vek concluded his six-year hiatus from the music business. In the interim, the London-born, self-taught multi-instrumentalist sought out his own production facility and honed the skills required to craft the follow up to his 2006 debut We Have Sound. Vek also founded and set up PALLET Recording Studios in East London.

“Aroused,” the track available for download, is a dance-pop sampling of the final product. You can also check out the video to “A Chore” below. In it, Vek acknowledges his hiatus while pretending to be the host of a fictional talk show called Tom Vek’s Island.

The physical edition of Leisure Seizure comes to stores on September 13.
