The first annual Brasil Summerfest kicks off in Central Park on Sunday.

The week-long music festival is a joint venture of Central Park Summerstage and the East Village club/record label Nublu. At six venues, music lovers can hear the nation’s staple sounds of samba, forro, bossanova and maracatu blended with the latest beats coming out of Brazil, from novo-tropicalia to manguebeat to baile-funk.

Rio de Janeiro native Marcelo D2 brings his hip-hop infused samba stylings to the stage on Sunday. Gear up for the show with this free download of “Desabafo” from the Latin hip-hop pioneer.
