Banjo or Freakout
"Upside Down"
Playing at: Knitting Factory
(361 Metropolitan Ave., Williamsburg)
Get: Tickets | Directions

Banjo or Freakout sounds like a name befitting an outfit of tripped-out, beard-loving, musically-inclined mountain men, but it's actually the recording name of Italian dream pop lone wolf Alesso Natalizia. Natalizia started gaining attention last year for his cover songs (he's reinterpreted everything from Radiohead to the Ronettes) and lush original tracks like this one. "Upside Down" is a soft and watery tune with gently lapping guitar and entrancing vocals.
