Senegalese kora player and singer Ablaye Cissoko and German trumpeter Volker Goetze met by chance in 2001 when they both opened for the legendary Youssou N'Dour. Despite the fact that they came from two very different schools of music -- and two very different cultures -- Cissoko and Goetze found an artistic kinship in each other, and it prompted them to collaborate on the album Sira. On this track from that record, Cissoko's dulcet kora and sweet vocals are underscored by Goetze's quiet, contemplative trumpet.
